Once upon a time in a far away land called the seventh grade I once spent my evenings sewing and ironing on patch after patch onto a pair of size zero Old Navy wide leg leans. The jeans were covered top to bottom and I couldn’t wait to wear them to school the next day. Little did I know that those jeans would get me made fun of more than any other item in my wardrobe. I still wore them week in and week out until I finally decided that the patches had to go. Now umpteen years later and patches are back and bigger than ever. I wish I had saved those jeans (not like they would fit but more for the memory) but instead will have to reinvest in a plethora of patches and return to my DIY ways.
