I have been trying to figure out how to wear this dress forever because the slit is so insanely high (somehow missed that major detail in the fitting room) that it ends up being a bit scandalous when wore with bare legs. Then I dug around in my cabinet and emerged with these opaque leggings that were the perfect match! Topped it with a few more layers to keep me warm and I was off! The dress has been given a new less trollop-y life!

I have long been a fan of wearing animal prints (as you may have noticed already). My first conscious buy of the menagerie kind was a pair of snake printed trousers in 1999/2000 that I wore on my first trip to NY for a shoot with Teen Magazine. I remember feeling very self conscious as I walked through the streets of NY- a 15 year old in the bold fitted cropped pants not sure of this great big city before me and even less sure of the attention I was receiving. It could have been more the fact that I was a fresh faced 5’11 blonde all bright eyed and bushy tailed linked arm in arm with another model from Atlanta who had landed the same gig. I may never know if  was my blonde mane or my pants that garnered the attention but I assumed it was my outfit choice and I soon ditched those pants and opted for all black and denim for my next trip to NY when I first booked Cosmo! Now that I am all grown up and well adjusted to a life spent looking at the tops of everyones heads I am confident enough to adorn myself in prints and colors galore no matter what city I find myself traipsing about in! So let’s celebrate the mighty snake print! It is the year of the snake after all. If you need more python print-spiration I suggest this post about how to slither snake into your wardrobe inch by inch! Happy Chinese New Year everyone! Kung Hei Fat Choi!
