Polka Dot Blazer: Zara, White Silk Blouse: Zara (I cut the sleeves off and made the cuffs), Shorts: Topshop, Necklace: Tangram, Shoes: Nine West, Bag: 3.1 Phillip Lim, Glasses: c/o Ports 1961, Watch: Michael Kors
When you have an event to go to at a store called Polkadot you get a free pass to wear all the polkadots that you can pile on! I decided to keep it tame with just a blazer as it was scorching outside and couldn’t take many more layers than this! The blazer is so bold that I figured it best to go ultra simple underneath hence the b&w palette. The silk blouse and shorts were the best bet for handling the HK heat though I still turned into a hot mess by the time I walked from Star St to Hollywood Road (that’s far to all you non-kongers)! As for the shirt, I recently took a sewing class and decided that one of my first projects would be to snip the sleeves from this blouse to make it more summer friendly. Once that was accomplished, I noticed that the cuffs could be salvaged to make a little Flashdance type number (see below)! Though I didn’t get to indulge in lobster that night as my 80’s counterpart did, I did get to savor the tasty treats at Tokio Joe, my fave sushi spot in town with the girls! Overall, a grand success!
